This year we moved from Geneva to Montreux. I love Montreux beyond words can express, but it was hard saying good bye to our life and apartment in Geneva.
One of my favourite spots in that awkwardly shaped apartment was this coffee corner. I really wanted it to sit close to our home office, and it brought us so much joy and relief. At the time when we put together this space, I wasn’t yet doing any art. This was back in 2023, I think. It’s interesting to look back and see how my mind was exercising and yearning creativity even back then.

The illustration also includes the clay sculpture I made of our first greyhound – Sudo. It was the crown jewel of the space so it was hard for me to not include it in the illustration even though the colors don’t quite go along well.
Overall, I like the piece. It has some issues, but when I drew it, I wanted to just capture a memory before the sparks went out and Geneva completely escapes my mind. I also didn’t do any color composition for this piece. I just wung it! Considering that, it’s not too shabby. I think subconsciously I was using this illustration by Genevive Godbout as inspiration for the color palette.
